Muthukumaran Balasubramanian, BSI certified ISO27001LA, ISO9001:2000LA started his career in 1988 with teaching at Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering (SVCE) and moved into network and security verticals as Chief Consultant with Gemini Communication Limited (GCL). He is currently establishing Industrial Best Practices in Security and Network domains within GCL and setting up consultancy practices in the areas of ISMS, SOC, NOC, IT infrastructure Management and Open Source.

He is also a visiting professor at SMOT School of Business & Great Lakes Institute of Management. He has been offering courses in Information Systems, Information Security practices & Information Systems audit.

Apart from his lecturing commitments at SVCE, he was one of the principal architects in establishing the campus LAN and gateway solutions for SVCE as early as 1998 including system administration, network services management, forensics & incident analysis, security policy planning and practices. He was associated with Hexaware, CTS, Review Net and other MNCs in profiles that include technical training (network, firewall & system administration) network designing, and content creation. He is also a promoter of Open Source initiatives.

With scholastic achievements in M.Sc, MCA and ME(CS), he has authored technical books and chapters for premier publishers like John Wiley, Tata McGraw Hill, and Vijay Nicole. He is currently working on titles Information Systems & Security and Computer Communication and Secure Networks for Pearson India.
